Plut\u00f4t que de faire affaire avec un studio r\u00e9put\u00e9, le groupe avait utilis\u00e9 son avance mon\u00e9taire provenant du l;abel pour monter son propre studio et ainsi avoir le plein contr\u00f4le sur la production et l\u2019orientation artistique. L\u2019album avait obtenu des critiques favorables et est devenu un album s\u00e9minal qui a influenc\u00e9 toute une g\u00e9n\u00e9ration et plusieurs styles musicaux associ\u00e9es au Synth Pop et au New Wave. M\u00eame si les membres du groupe \u00e9taient insatisfaits du r\u00e9sultat, Andy McCluskey a plus tard avou\u00e9 appr\u00e9cier la na\u00efvet\u00e9 des pi\u00e8ces contenues sur l\u2019album et de la fa\u00e7on qu\u2019il a \u00e9t\u00e9 enregistr\u00e9.
