La mort de Paul Baloff en 2002 avait marqu\u00e9 le retour de Steve Souza \u00e0 la voix et Tempo of the Damned avait vu le jour.  Le c\u00f4t\u00e9 plus clownesque \u00e9tait disparu de l\u2019imagerie et du son global du groupe qui avait effectu\u00e9 un retour explosif avec cet album.  Steve Souza quittera curieusement le groupe \u00e0 la veille d\u2019une tourn\u00e9e Nord-Am\u00e9ricaine en support de l\u2019album et fut remplac\u00e9 par deux chanteurs qui se partageaient les spectacles selon leurs disponibilit\u00e9s.  Tempo of the Damned est toujours consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme \u00e9tant un excellent album de Exodus qui prouvait que le groupe Californien \u00e9tait encore un des ma\u00eetres du Thrash Metal de la Bay Area.
