Sous son premier pseudonyme de Occult, le groupe fait partie des pionniers de cette grande sc\u00e8ne avec les Asphyx, Sinister ou encore Thanatos.  Apr\u00e8s avoir chang\u00e9 de nom pour Legion of the Damned, le son global avait l\u00e9g\u00e8rement chang\u00e9 pour un Thrash Metal noirci et brutal portant ainsi la troupe vers de nouveaux sommets.  Cult of the Dead poursuivait ce qui avait \u00e9t\u00e9 commenc\u00e9 en 1992 en proposant une fois de plus des riffs mordants dont Richard Ebisch \u00e9tait pass\u00e9 ma\u00eetre donnant ainsi le caract\u00e8re particulier aux compositions.  Avec la voix granuleuse et sauvage de Maurice Swinkels, tout \u00e9tait mis en place pour offrir une musique dynamique avec suffisamment de fougue pour faire peur \u00e0 une non initi\u00e9.
