Le groupe avait sign\u00e9 avec Century Media ce qui lui permettait de pousser la machine pour esp\u00e9rer atteindre des sommets mais i lavait aussi d\u00e9laiss\u00e9 compl\u00e9tement son c\u00f4t\u00e9 Death Metal initi\u00e9 avec son premier album.  Alors que The Formulas of Death nous pr\u00e9sentait des \u00e9l\u00e9ments plus sombres issu d\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9ments dits Gothiques m\u00e9lang\u00e9s au Death Metal du premier album, The Children of the Night embrassait compl\u00e8tement cette facette noire Gothique en puisant \u00e0 la source m\u00eame du genre en s\u2019inspirant de groupes Post Punk comme The Cure.  D\u2019ailleurs, le groupe reprendra One Hundred Years de la c\u00e9l\u00e8bre formation Anglaise sur cet album.  Au niveau musical, Tribulation montait la barre plus haut en misant sur les atmosph\u00e8res et les arrangements plut\u00f4t que la technicit\u00e9 en offrant des pi\u00e8ces d\u2019une originalit\u00e9 exemplaire qui fera monter le groupe plus haut sur la sc\u00e8ne Internationale en devenant l\u2019un des piliers du renouveau du M\u00e9tal Gothique pur et dur et comme le genre se doit de sonner.  L\u2019imagerie cadav\u00e9rique et Victorienne renfor\u00e7ait le tout pour \u00eatre en mesure de placer les pions \u00e0 la bonne place.
